Tsilhqot'in Language and Culture is the cornerstone of who we are and what we are working towards. By providing each of our students with double the daily instruction around language and culture we are working towards conversational Tsilhqot'in, strong cultural knowledge, and the goal of full immersion programming in the coming years.
The Tl'etinqox ?esgul team is committed to preserving, learning, and advancing Tsilhqot'in language and culture through partnerships with each TGO department, the community as a whole, and our Traditional Knowledge Keeper program, where knowledge keepers are invited to join our classes, share stories and language, present cultural teachings, or just be in the school with our students. Each knowledge keeper will be provided with a daily honorarium and it is our goal to have a knowledge keeper in each classroom, full-time.
If you, or someone you know, would like to be a Traditional Knowledge Keeper for Tl'etinqox ?esgul, please contact the school via phone, email, or stop by to meet with our Administration team.
Tl'etinqox ?esgul has been working to build our athletic programming in order to provide our students with a variety of athletic experiences and skill building opportunities while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle at the same time.
Tl'etinqox ?esgul has purchased skates, helmets, hockey sticks, snow shoes, and cross country skis for activities out on the land; as well as new sports equipment, such as basketballs, volleyballs, nets, soccer equipment, baseball equipment, and badminton sets for all Physical and Health Education classes.
Tl'etinqox ?esgul is also very proud to share that two brand new playgrounds have been installed and will provide Primary students with new activities and a safe play area, while providing older students with a "Ninja Obstacle Course" set of structures that will challenge and engage with them both during class, and on their own at recess, lunch, and after school.
Tl'etinqox ?esgul has worked to introduce a variety of performing arts options through Drama class and partnerships with N'we Jinan artists that have brought musicians, song writers, poets, spoken word artists, and Podcasters to the school to work with our students in developing art and expressing themselves creatively.
